I came to Whanganui to complete my sporting career twenty five years ago and now proudly call Whanganui home.  I have a professional background as a medical radiation technologist (radiographer) but have also worked in sport management and now manage my husband's Osteopathy practice.  We have two teenage children who are schooled in Whanganui and now passionate and committed young rowers themselves.

I have been an elected member of the Whanganui District Health Board, Councillor on the Whanganui District Council, Chair and member of the Whanganui Community Foundation as well as establishing and Chairing the Future Champions Trust, to assist our promising young sportspeople reach international honours. I am a former triple World Champion Rower, double Olympian and Halberg Award winner and are passionate about sport and recreation and the benefits of a safe, connected and thriving community.

I live in Castlecliff, Whanganui, and was born here, raised elsewhere but lived much of my adult life here. I’m a chartered account, chartered member of the Institute of Directors and have a Masters in Business. With an adult family, I’m able to contribute significantly to our community. I’m a third term Whanganui District Councillor and serving my second term as Deputy Mayor. As one of the leaders of the Rejuvenate Castlecliff team I understand how community transformation is possible when given the right support. Some past roles include elected member of the Whanganui District Health Board, trustee of the Whanganui Community Foundation, Youth Services Trust and Castlecliff Community Charitable Trust.

I moved to the region with my wife to raise our young family and we now call Fordell home. I am a lawyer and partner in Treadwell Gordon whose footprint neatly mirrors that of the Trust’s, from the Waimarino in the north, Waverley in the west and Taihape and Marton in the east and all areas in between. I practice predominantly in the areas of commercial, property and rural law. Living on a farm but working in town gives me great insight into the variety of people and ways of life in region.

I chair the Fordell pre-school board of trustees, have roles with Whanganui United Cricket Club and Wanganui Cricket, as well as undertaking a good deal of pro-bono legal work for various charities. I still enjoy playing Cricket and Golf and played 10 years of senior rugby.
